IEEE is the world\u2019s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow with more than 423,000 members in over 160 countries, and through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted \u201cvoice\u201d for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining IEEE, in 2015 Stephen was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the US Senate as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. In this role, he served as the chief technology officer for the U.S. Department of Defense, leading one of the largest and most complex research, development, and engineering organizations in the world. He oversaw a $12.5B annual investment portfolio, managed internal and collaborative research and engineering efforts, drove a culture that valued innovation, and supported the department\u2019s global technical engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen has more than three decades of government and industrial experience in technology and product development, including holding a number of senior leadership positions at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Prior to ADI, Chas received two Bachelor of Science degrees in robotics and electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2016. Since joining ADI in 2016, he has worked on all manner of internal and external customer projects touching areas of PCB design, embedded C code, MATLAB GUIs, Python test automation, motor control and more. Outside of work, Chas can most likely be found either working on his Jeep Wrangler JLR in the garage or out offroading (probably covered in mud) at Uwharrie National Forest with his wife and fur baby pitbull &#8220;Atlas.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Session: Antennas to Bits: System Apps Does It All<\/h2>\n<p>The aerospace and defense industry is pushing for increased performance, decreased costs and quicker time to market, and companies are forced to do more with less resources. RADAR systems are no exception, with customers wanting to track more targets, improve sensitivity and range, all while they work with fewer specialized engineers. My focus as a systems applications engineer for Analog Devices is to document, prototype and create collateral to facilitate customer projects in this space so customers can overcome personal cuts to deliver next generation products. His efforts helped start the Cyber Security Collaborative Research Alliance, a unique program of creating basic science of cyber warfare.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kott has published over 80 technical papers and has served as the initiator, co-author and primary editor of over ten books, including Cyber Defense and Situational Awareness, Cyber Security of SCADA and other Industrial Control Systems, and Cyber Resilience.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Alexander Kott serves as the Chief Scientist for the U.S. Army Research Laboratory. She received the degree in electrical engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, Brazil, in 2013 and the Master\u2019s degree at the State University of Campinas, UNICAMP, Brazil, in the field of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) in 2016 and successfully presented the doctoral thesis in December 2021 in drone-borne DInSAR.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Internships: from 2009 to 2016 at Bradar &#8211; Embraer Defense and Security, Brazil, developing microwave and frequency conversion stages; in 2012 at Bonn Elektronik GmbH, Germany, developing digital and analog hardware; in 2014 at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory\/NASA in Pasadena, USA, with emphasis on drone borne SAR calibration.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">In 2017 she cofounded Radaz Ltda., Brazil, a start-up specialized in drone borne SAR development.
