Bio
Russell is an experienced association executive. Currently, he acts as the Deputy Director and Director of Government Relations for the world’s largest technical professional association, representing the interests of 170,000 technology professionals across the United States. He is an expert in immigration, STEM education, energy, and technology policy.
As staff lead to the IEEE-USA Nominations and Appointments Committee, he is responsible for identifying and recruiting the leaders of our association, helping to prepare them for this role, and running Board elections. As staff assistant to the Board of Directors, Russell helps Board members understand the unique challenges, and develop a vision for the future of IEEE-USA. He has spoken to more than 270 IEEE groups, conferences and workshops across the United States, Canada, Australia, and India on politics and policy as one of IEEE’s most sought after public speakers.
