Bio

Sampathkumar has been the Senior Technical Program Management Leader at Amazon since 2017. He has more than fifteen years of research and industrial experience in solution designs, systems engineering, hardware and software development with proven track record in design and development of complex large-scale software and computing systems across inter-disciplinary domains. He is an expert in driving core software development life cycle activities including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development and testing, quality assurance, operations support and sustaining efforts.

Sampathkumar received several international awards in recognition of leadership, technical, professional and research excellence: 2020 IEEE Global field award/honor recipient, 2016 Global IEEE Larry K Wilson transnational award, 2014 IEEE-USA Professional achievement award, 2013 and 2008 IEEE global MGA Achievement Award, 2013 IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) “Outstanding Young Professional Award”, 2011 IEEE USA and National Engineers week Foundation’s “New face of engineering”, 2009 IEEE president change the world award for developing path breaking technology ISHHS, IEEE foundation technology grant award, Global 2007 IEEE RAB GOLD achievement and 2007 IEEE Asia Pacific GOLD award.

This talk will present  “how IEEE members can participate in the portfolio of global programs offered by the IEEE Humanitarian Activities Committee (IEEE HAC)” to address global challenges using technological solutions. The audience will learn on leveraging their technical skills for social good. We will also discuss real-world case studies and share best practices on design and delivering impactful technology-based sustainable development programs.
